What is involved?

• Follow a promising dietary approach for type 2 diabetes: a very low carbohydrate (‘keto’) breakfast, which cuts out most sugars and starches. Breakfasts might include eggs, omelets, bacon, keto waffles, keto pancakes, coffee with full cream, smoothies, and/or full-fat yogurt with nuts or seeds and some berries. We will work with you to find breakfasts that you find delicious and are very low-carb.

• Be part of an online program with videos, text messages, resources, and recipes.

• Get inspiration and advice from a coach who will help you as you make changes to your way of eating and lifestyle.

• Learn about making long-lasting habit changes fit into your life.

• Complete study measurements at the start of the study, and then at month 4. These will include a blood draw at a location near you, a contunous glucose monitor sent to your home, and some online surveys.

Previous participants have very much enjoyed being a part of our nutrition studies. For example:

• “Not enough good things to say about how empowered I feel because of the study. Thank you all so much.”

• “I'm so incredibly grateful for this program. It's been life changing.”

• “The fact that you literally did all the ‘homework’ for me, and then every week I got the benefit of really great information... I felt supported all the way, in fact I'd say this has been a perfect program for who I am. I am only disappointed that it's coming to an end, but you've given me great tools, so only better things to come right?!”

You might be eligible if you are 18-80 years old, have type 2 diabetes, and an HbA1c of 8% or higher. Participants who are eligible and complete the 4-month trial may receive up to $100.

You are not eligible to participate if you: • Have type 1 diabetes • Are pregnant or breastfeeding • Have cancer, heart failure, or kidney failure • Are vegan • Currently following a very low-carbohydrate diet or breakfasts • Have had bariatric surgery

• Read the consent form for more details about study participation.
